Delphinia (Mur) Hunter Spurlock

Born:  5 March 1914 - Anderson County, Texas
Died:  13 August 2002
Son:  McClendon (Dipper) Spurlock

 
Services of Delphinia Mur Spurlock, 88, of Palestine will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Grace Temple Church of God in Christ with Preston White, the Rev. Dewayne Simpson and Tommy Crosby officiating.  Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Davis Funeral Home.
Mrs. Spurlock died Tuesday after a brief illness.
She was born March 5, 1914 in Anderson County.
Mrs. Spurlock was employed at the Hamburger Bar for 30 years.  She was reared in Palestine and educated in Palestine schools.  She was a member of Grace Temple Church of God in Christ.
She is survived by sons T.J. Spurlock Jr., V.C. Spurlock, Willie J. Spurlock and Edward Spurlock; daughters, Gloria Dial of Los Angeles, Alama Watson and Nancy Brisby, both of Palestine, and Marian Spurlock of Tyler; 42 grandchildren; 75 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Alton Carr, Ray Simmons, Robert Dawson, Morrell Barrett, Anthony Hodges and Jimmy Mims.
